The death of legendary actress Lauren Bacall on Tuesday inspired tributes from actors and other celebrities for Hollywood’s ultimate leading lady.
Bacall was 89.
She died of a stroke in New York City following a film career that began in the 1940s and continued for nearly 70 years.
Bacall, who was married to Humphrey Bogart until his death in 1957, appeared in more than 70 films and TV shows, according to the Internet Movie Database. She was nominated in 1997 for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in "The Mirror Has Two Faces."
Together, they were “the most gossiped-about couple of the Forties.”
